About Kodaiji temple
Kodaiji Temple was founded in 1606 by Nene, the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, to commemorate him, who rose from a peasant background to unify Japan.
Many of the halls are designated as important cultural properties, and the Japanese garden, said to have been created by Kobori Enshu, is also magnificent.

There is a covered walkway named after the posture of a resting dragon.

A beautiful tea room stands there.

From the elevated area, you can see the adjacent Ryozen Kannon.

The bamboo forest is also popular.

There is a shop where you can enjoy matcha.

Nighttime illuminations
While daytime visits are also enjoyable, the nighttime visits held in spring and autumn are especially recommended. The pond, reflecting the plants illuminated by the light, is very beautiful.

The illuminated bamboo forest is magical.

The light show illuminating is something you could watch forever without getting bored.

Please also view the photos of the bamboo forest and the illuminations at the links below.
