Introduction to Kinsatsugu shrine
It is one of the oldest shrines in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City. The shrine’s name includes the character “kin (Gold)”. The sacred tree, Kurogane Mochi (Kurogane holly), contains the word for rich in Japanese. For this reason, it is said to bring good fortune in increasing financial luck.
The shrine’s character, “Kanau-san,” is the spirit of the Kurogane Mochi. This name means wishes come true. It has red berries on its head.
Ebisu is also enshrined within the grounds. It is said to bring good luck in business.
When we bought some charms, the lion danced for us (It will move when it hears a sound nearby).
May Festivals
The spring festival was held in May. A magnificent Mikoshi (portable shrine) was paraded through the town, creating a lively atmosphere.
