The Founding Story of Inaba-do Byodoji Temple

About 1000 years ago, there was a nobleman named Tachibana no Yukihira. He fell seriously ill on his way back from Inaba Province (present-day Tottori Prefecture). Then, a monk appeared in his dream and told him that there was a tree floating in the sea in Inaba Province and that he should perform a memorial service for it.
So he went to look for the tree that had appeared in his dream, and it turned out to be a statue of Bhaisajyaguru (the Medicine Buddha).
After recovering from his illness and returning to Kyoto, he built a hall to enshrine this statue, which marked the beginning of Inaba-do Byodoji Temple.
Health-benefiting spots
Upon entering the temple, you will see the main hall directly in front of you. If you look up, you will see Bhaisajyaguru, who is believed to bring good health.
Many amulets and temple stamps are available here.

If you go around to the left side of the main hall, you will find the sacred tree. It is said that touching this will make you feel better.

There is a statue of Yama nearby. If you kneel down and pray from below, you will receive blessings for good health.
