Introduction to Fujinomori-jinja shrine
Fujinomori-jinja Shrine was founded about 1,800 years ago. The ritual of running horses has been handed down since ancient times. Nowadays, a Shinto ritual is held every year on May 5th in which people perform acrobatics while riding a running horse.
For this reason, it has become a shrine for horses and is visited by many people involved in horse racing, jockeys, and fans.
Horse Shrine
There were a lot of things related to horses in the shrine grounds. The horse statue looks like it is galloping.

There were lots of pictures of horse racing.

There are also pictures of horse racing on the votive plaques. It was dedicated with the hope of winning the horse race.

The photo below shows the kanji for horse written in mirror writing. This character is said to bring good luck.

Other highlights
Fujinomori-jinja Shrine has had a spring that has been said to have the most delicious water since ancient times. It is said that drinking it will grant you good luck in winning.
Local people came to collect water.

There are statues of the Seven Lucky Gods in the precincts. In Japan, it is said that praying to these gods will bring you good fortune.
