About Reiganji temple
Reiganji Temple was founded in 1624. It was destroyed by fire in 1657 but was subsequently relocated to its current site.
There is a statue of Jizo Bosatsu (Ksitigarbha) on the temple grounds, standing 2.73 meters (8.96 ft) tall. This is one of the six Jizo Bosatsu (Ksitigarbha) statues erected at the entrance to Edo (the former name of Tokyo).
The grave of Matsudaira Sadanobu is also located at the back of the temple grounds. He is known as a reformer who revitalized the finances of the Tokugawa shogunate in the late 18th century.
