This temple is popular among people who like Buddhist statues. At the Treasure Hall, you can see Buddhist statues carved by Kaikei, one of Japan’s most famous Buddhist sculptors.

There is a story that when the main hall was being built, the carpenter made a mistake by cutting the pillars too short, but his wife, Okame, gave him advice, and the building was completed successfully. She prayed to Buddha that she would give her life once the main hall was built, and subsequently lost her life.

Later, a mound was erected on the temple grounds to commemorate Okame. It is now said to bring good fortune in finding a partner and ensuring marital harmony.
