Shukubo (temple stay)
Located near Suita Station, this shukubo enjoys very good access to transportation. It is highly recommended for people who are making training camp or group trips to Osaka. Although the rooms are not equipped with TV sets, they are large and comfortable.
The people at the temple are also very kind. I felt comfortable staying there. (When I said I was going to Universal Studios Japan, they kindly offered to keep my car at the temple because thefts from parked cars often occurred there.)
This is a temple run by a family. They are all very nice people with warm hearts. Especially the assistant head priest and his mother were fascinating.
None of the buildings in the precinct, such as the main hall and the Jizo hall are modern (with a history of 1,250 years, this is natural of course). However, it is a wonderful temple with a history of a warm and kind family. The rooms are clean and large and very quiet. The sounds of someone walking on the stones in the garden and the birds in the morning and even the sound of a broom cleaning the garden sounded mysterious to me.
Even if you choose an accommodation plan without meals, there are restaurants and convenience stores close to the shukubo. However, if you are visiting Osaka, it might be a good idea to eat at Dotonbori, etc. Also, if you stay without meals, you cannot use the bath, but you can go to a public bath near Suita Station. They do not offer religious services.
