Introduction to Nogi-jinja shrine
Nogi Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Nogi Maresuke and his wife, Nogi Shizuko, who made significant contributions to Japan’s victory in the Russo-Japanese War.
Therefore, it is believed to bring good fortune in praying for victory. Within the shrine grounds, there is a spring of famous water from Fushimi, and it is said that drinking it will bring you good luck in winning.
Furthermore, since samurai warriors in the past ate chestnuts to pray for victory, there are also shrines dedicated to the “victory chestnut.”
There is also a statue of a sea bream, which is said to bring happiness.
