Introduction to Kanchiin temple

This is a sub-temple built on the north side of Toji Temple. The guest hall, built in 1605, is designated a National Treasure.
This temple is known as the place where Miyamoto Musashi, a renowned master swordsman, stayed. He was also skilled at painting, and several of his works have been passed down here.
There is an admission fee, but it is open to the public year-round. You can view Buddhist statues, gardens, and other sights. The dry garden facing south of the guest hall is particularly beautiful.

As you walk around inside, you can also enjoy small courtyard gardens and other features.

They also offer a sutra copying experience.
