Shukubo (temple stay)

Hongyobo is a temple with origins in the 13th century and is a shukubo for Kuonji Temple on Minobu-san, the head temple of the Nichiren sect. It is located at the very back of Minobu, just down the hill from Kuonji Temple, making it convenient for worship.

Next to the main hall is a hall dedicated to Taishakuten (Indra).

For dinner, you can enjoy vegetarian cuisine made with yuba(tofu skin), a Minobu specialty. The dish of sweet and sour grated radish and grapes had a mysterious taste.
