Shukubo (temple stay)
Eisyouan temple is located in the center of Kanazawa. Accommodation is limited to one group per day. The guest rooms are on the second floor, and are spacious Japanese-style rooms, each 8 tatami mats in size, with two rooms connected together.
You are free to use the refrigerator, microwave, and kettle in your room.
The bath is on the first floor. This is a typical domestic bath. The toilet and sink were at the end of the corridor.
Zazen meditation
The next morning, zazen began at 8am. The head priest instructed me and I did zazen for about 20 minutes.
Both the head priest and his wife were very kind and we had a very enjoyable time.
Omicho Market
The famous Omicho Market is just a 5-minute walk away. We recommend this place for meals.
