Introduction to Tsukiyamakan

Tsukiyamakan is a historic temple lodge that was established as a monastery during the Heian period (794-1185). It became a shrine during the Meiji period (1868-1912).
Togakushi Shrine has a total of five shrines, and this shukubo is located near Hokosha Shrine. It takes about an hour by bus from Nagano Station to get there.
The grounds include a shrine dedicated to a 15th century ascetic named Sentyo. This is said to have the benefit of praying for victory.
