Shukubo (temple stay)

This temple stay only accepts one group per day. It’s easily accessible, about 30 minutes by train from Sapporo. It doesn’t look like a temple from the outside, but when you enter the building, you’ll find the main hall.

Morning services are held in the main hall. The head priest and his wife chanted sutras for about 15 minutes.
Guest room

The room was a 16 tatami Japanese-style room and was very spacious. The room was equipped with air conditioning, heating, an air purifier, and a flat-screen TV. Wi-Fi was also available, and towels and bath towels were provided.
There is a kitchen in front of the guest room. There is no bath, but you can use the shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are also provided.

Surrounding area information
There is a convenience store near the temple. There are a few restaurants though. I ate seafood ramen at a restaurant called Kaizokusen (Pirate Ship) in front of the station. It was very delicious.

This Shukubo was convenient for sightseeing in Sapporo and Otaru.
