Shukubo (temple stay)
This is a Japanese-style guesthouse located within the grounds of Saifukuji Temple.
Meals are a combination of local cuisine and vegetarian vegetarian dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. What was impressive was that the head priest explained the contents of the dish before the meal.
Morning services begin at 7:00 and last about 40 minutes, including a sermon by the head priest. Those who wish can also try copying sutras.
